NIKE Celebrates Dominance With '5 Decades of Basketball' Collection
NIKE Basketball is preparing to not only take over New York Fashion Week, but also the NBA All-Star Weekend and part of that includes celebrating their lineage and reign as the iconic brand of basketball with a new collection, dubbed the "5 Decades of Basketball" Collection.
Utilizing 5 sneaker silhouettes, honoring the beginning, in the 1970s, to the 2010s, respectively, each model in this collection is presented in luxury fashion. Including the Nike Blazer, the Air Force 1 High Lux, Air Foamposite Pro, Air Zoom Generation (aka LeBron 1) and the new Zoom Bonafide, each shoe is covered in a beautiful Vachetta Tan leather upper with rose gold detailing specific to each shoe. The latter (Zoom Bonafide) is also fitted with Flyknit on the upper of the shoe with rose gold hits at the 'pods' located on the midsole around the sneaker.
(L to R: Nike Blazer, AF1 High Lux, Foamposite Pro, Air Zoom Generation & Zoom Bonafide)
Vachetta Tan has quickly become the premier color and leather choice for all sneaker heads and customizers who want to create that buttery-soft luxurious look for a fraction of the cost. I gotta admit, it looks mighty fine on that Foamposite. With the lackluster re-release of the OG Royal Blue 'Posite, hopefully this collection will bring back some fame to that model, as the Blazer, AF1 & 'LeBron 1' all have created their lanes as being timeless shoes. And of course, for the hardcore ballers, the Zoom Bonafide is sure to be a go-to for b-ball action.
Look for this collection to release in New York exclusively at KITH on February 10th, followed by a wider release during NBA All-Star Weekend.
Until then, enjoy the buttery-goodness of these beauty shots & leave your comments and thoughts on this collection below:
