Remembering Martin Luther King Jr.

Though this picture speaks for itself, it's vital that we go into the rest of this year mindful of what's at stake.

There are about to be a lot of changes within D.C., within our government, nationally & locally, and it will all move down the line to affect you directly, whether you want to accept it or not. What you can learn from the life of Martin Luther King Jr., is to take the life you are living, and make the most of it, for others. To utilize the skills that you have, no matter who else can do whatever that skill is. One thing I learned growing up is that 'only you can be the best you.'

Never forget that. Dr. King was the best Dr. King he could be, not because he's still talked about today, or because he has a day in honor of him. He was the best him because he went forth with what he believed in & made sure that he affected someone's life every day. Each and every day, be sure to encourage at least one person a day. Love someone. Hug someone. Give someone $20 just because. Pass along that pair of shoes that you know you won't ever wear again. Sing a song for someone whose crying. Take a stranger out to lunch. Be the difference maker. That is how you can change the world.

Being free means you have the liberty to live. And as long as there is injustice and indifference, having the liberty to live is something that should always be fought for.
