adidas Basketball Introduces Their BHM Arthur Ashe Collection
As we head towards the end of January, we can probably go ahead and assume that footwear brands will begin to prepare/release various shoes in honor of Black History Month, which is February (why it's only 1 month is a different blog post for another day). Nonetheless, it looks like the Trefoil has once again stepped in front of the line and has already released info & versions of their 2017 BHM collection, the adidas Hoops Arthur Ashe Series.
Honoring the legendary tennis player Arthur Ashe for his storied career and contributions to not just tennis, but to sport in general, this collection from adidas includes the Harden Vol. 1, the D Lillard 3, or the properly titled Dame 3 and the D Rose 7 models. Each model pays homage to the philanthropist and one of the greatest tennis players of all time by utilizing muted colors and unique graphics that tie in the trio of shoes.
Each shoe features scholastic webbing with a multicolor pattern in each sock liner with similar subtle deatails.
The adidas Harden Vol. 1 version includes a grey & black Primeknit construction upper with white leather adorning the toe box, with the Dame 3 & D Rose 7 each sport white uppers with contrasting black panels. Each shoe also shows an "AA" graphic on the sock liner, not just for his initials but also for Arthur's AIDS Awareness & Anti-Apartheld stance, along with graphics from 1975, including a dog tag with Ashe's face engraved on the side.
Look for this BHM collection to release at retailers on January 23rd for $140 MSRP for each model, as well as adidas.com. Enjoy the beauty shots below:
