...FINALLY...
First there was Mr. West...
Then, last month, Kevin Hart hit us with a trifecta, release 3 color ways of the NIKE Free Train Instinct Hart aka Hustle Hart.
Next up, is someone that Kevin knows of quite well. And, he's an athlete, too. But it's not who you'd expect. Every so often, sneaker companies tend to work quietly with people of influence, who can generate buzz and bring attention to their brand in ways unlike anyone else can. Of course, with music, Kanye West delivered with the Swoosh & continues to top himself now, working with Three Stripes aka adidas. Even Kevin Hart with his "Move With Hart" campaign, which has taken on an identity of its own, showcasing health & fitness in ways that NIKE is most known for.
But now, there's a new guy on the scene.
Some would call him a "pie-eating, jabroni-beating, eyebrow-raising, heart-stopping" entertainer.
Others know him to be The Most Electrifying Man In All Of Entertainment.
Few even know him as Dwayne. But to the world, he's The Rock.
If you've been following The Rock, you'll know that he's been working exclusively with Under Armour for quite some time. Perhaps the most subtle, yet upfront ways you can tell is when he makes his rare WWE appearances. You'll see him sporting some sleeveless shirt, with wording that his character The Rock is well known for, along with a logo, as shown here:
In this case above, it was simply a modified version of his famous Brahma Bull logo with the UA logo above it. Dwayne has been working with Under Armour on what's been called "Project Rock". Announced back in January, Project Rock is a long-term partnership between the two entities, that will focus on empowerment through motivation, health, fitness & encouragement, something The Rock is very well at doing. As Dwayne stated about the partnership, "...they [Under Armour] embody the idea of this constant growth and progression, and together we want to help push people through their ongoing pursuit of innovation: mind, body & spirit."
Along with apparel, accessories & such, of course you had to expect some footwear to come out of it, right? Well, that's what where here for. Take a look at this Instagram post of The Rock, debuting an exclusive look at his first signature Under Armour sneaker:
Yep. The Rock is getting his own sneaker. And considering the ties that the wrestling world has with sneakers, this is quite the accomplishment.
With the help of @dezcustomz & @kreativecustomkicks, these shoes have been personally tested for a year by Dwayne to ensure durability, comfort & style point, of course. Expect them to be released in the early part of 2017. Possibly the First Quarter...eh, do we think so?
...IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT I THINK!!! (Had to do it.) And, considering Rock wears a size 15, there should be no problem with our large-footed community snagging up a pair of these.
Take a look of them up close below...IF YA SMEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLL...WHAT THE ROCK IS COOKIN'!!!!!
